BioMedic Micropeel

The MicroPeel® is a three-step process that removes a micro-thin top layer of skin. This top layer is a significant obstruction to having better skin because it is pore-clogged. The procedure is safe, effective, and is accomplished in 15 - 20 minutes.

BioMedic Micropeel Plus

The MicroPeel® Plus is a fifteen minute in-office procedure that will help smooth fine lines and help even skin discoloration while simultaneously reducing the appearance of acne scars and environmental damage to the skin.

TCA Skin Peels

TCA is a non-toxic chemical that has been used to perform skin peels for over 30 years.  Unlike some other peels, TCA peels have the advantage of creating a fresh natural appearing complexion, while preserving the normal skin color.  For this reason, they are often referred to as "freshening peels".

TCA peels can effectively improve many conditions, including:

  • Dull, weathered skin
  • Freckling
  • Blotchy pigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Fine wrinkles
  • Shallow acne scars

Microdermabrasion System

The M.D.A Microdermabrasion system works by pumping minute crystals through a glass hand-piece onto the skin's surface.  The fine crystal mist gently refines the epidermal layer leaving the skin smooth and more youthful.  Dermabrasion has been used in the medical industry for with great success. Micro-dermabrasion has been introduced to allow the beauty therapist to bridge the gap between beauty salon and the dermatologist clinic.  In just one treatment the M.D.A visibly refines and polishes the surface of the skin.  And what's more, the technique stimulates the micro-circulation to promote a healthy new layer of skin.

The laser works by bouncing light back and forth in between mirrors and lenses, increasing the strength with each cycle.  When the beam of light is at the desired power it is released.  The laser beam causes a carefully controlled burn that can be used for various procedures.

Lasers have gained acceptance, over the past several years, as the best  alternative to traditional treatments.

Laser Procedure

Whether used for hair removal or vein removal, the Vascular Laser provides the most risk free treatment when compared to other methods.  While most laser systems cannot treat dark or tanned skin, the Vascular Laser System can be used effectively on a broad range of skin types.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Also known as "laser peel," laser skin resurfacing usually takes less than 1½ hours (sometimes just a few minutes) depending on the size of the area being treated.  The procedure uses a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser beam which vaporizes the upper layers of damaged skin at controlled levels of penetration. Also used is Erbium Laser beam.

The procedure removes areas of damaged or wrinkled skin often caused by prolonged sun exposure.  Laser resurfacing can minimize the appearance of fine lines around the mouth and the eyes and is also effective in treating facial scars and skin areas with uneven pigmentation.

Other procedures done in our office is sclerotherapy, Botox, TCA peels, glycolic acid  peels and BioMedic peels.

Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a finely tuned sophisticated procedure done with the use of  laser.  This specific laser is designed to remove the growth center at the base of the hair follicle.  The laser emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin, to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed.  Upon absorption, the laser energy is transformed into heat, which can disable the follicle.

The majority of the body parts are appropriate for the use of this laser.  It is essentially a painless procedure, it can be performed in the office and does not require anesthesia.  The laser is FDA approved and in general 3 laser treatments 4 weeks apart are required for complete removal of the hair in the region.

Vein Removal

Spiders are those ugly, dark blue little veins that run up and down the legs resembling lines on a road map.  Sometimes spiders group themselves into nasty little star burst patterns that pop out where they are least wanted!  Sometimes they fan out along the outside of the thigh or the inner aspect of the lower leg.  Often they gather around the ankles or behind the knees.

A special saline solution is injected or lasers are used to fade these veins. Facial veins are effectively managed with a laser.

Skin Re-toning

Using the new Vascular Laser, Dr. Di Giuseppe is able to improve the tone and texture of the skin.  A smoother and cleaner complexion can be accomplished after just a few treatments.  Very often, Dr. Di Giuseppe uses Chemical peeling agents in combination with his Vascular Laser to customize a retoning program for the patient and achieve maximum benefits.

Removal of Shaving Bumps

Shaving bumps are a common problem for people with curly hair and dark skin.  As the hair grows out of the skin, it will immediately re-curl and re-enter the skin causing it to become inflamed and irritated creating bumps.  Sometimes these bumps can become quite large and can only be relieved by using topical steroids.  The Vascular Laser, the only laser approved by the FDA for all skin types,  can provide long-lasting relief for the irritating shaving bumps by removing the hair follicles.

Tattoo Removal

If the tattoo is relatively small and/or easily accessible and cosmetically in an inconspicuous area, the entire tattoo can be surgically cut out (or excised), and the skin can be sutured closed with stitches. This can be done in a single treatment session, or in several treatment sessions involving a "staged" or serial excision technique. This surgical technique is done in the office under local anesthesia.
